DIY: Chocolate mousse

Chocolate, loved by both men and women. There are endless ways to use it: just eat it, decorate things with it, make pies/cupcakes/ice cream with chocolate flavour. I can continue for a while... A beloved variation of chocolate among girls is chocolate mousse. But, did you know that making this delicious dessert is extremely easy? I made chocolate mousse together with the mother of my boyfriend and it was so good that I want to share the recipe with you!

You will need (for 4-6 persons):
- 160 g dark chocolate (you can use other varieties but then the taste of chocolate will be less intense)
- 40 g powdered/normal sugar
- 2 eggs
- 250 ml cream
- As a decoration you might use some cookies, strawberries or raspberries etc.

Step one:
Break the chocolate to small pieces and melt it au bain marie. You do this by filling a big pan with water which you heat and putting a smaller pan in the big pan with heated water. You put the chocolate in the smaller pan and stir it a little as it melts. When the chocolate melted completely, let it cool down.

Step two:
Split the eggs and put the yolk and protein in two separate cups. Stir 20 grams of sugar through the yolk and stir 20 grams of sugar through the protein.

Step three:
Mix the protein until it gets stiff. You know when it is stiff if you are able to hold it upside down without the falling, this may take a while if you mix it without the aid of a mixer.

Step four:
Mix the cream until you reach whipped cream.

Step five:
Mix the whipped cream, yolk and protein.

Step six:
Stir the cooled down chocolate through the mix of step five and keep stirring until one even colour is reached.

Step seven:
Put your chocolate mousse in broad wineglass and put it in the refrigerator for at least three hours before serving.

Step eight:
Serve your homemade chocolate mousse. You may like to decorate it.

Most cookery books advise to eat the mousse within 24 hours in connection with the tenability of raw eggs. Of course, this warning is unnecessary since it is impossible to preserve something like chocolate mousse for such a long time:)

Enjoy!
