DIY: Fast for 24 hours!

As you may have noticed, it has been a few days since I've posted something. This is a result of a hectic week in which I had to set up a 24 hour program for 30 students, who joined me with a 24 hour fast at school. We did not eat from Wednesday June 27, 14:00, to Thursday June 27, 14:00. We sought sponsors (family, friends, neighbours, etc.) and raised money for KiKa, a Dutch organization that fights for children with cancer. Do you want to know how we survived these 24 hours? Or are you planning on fasting yourself? Then read this!

DIY: Super easy (and cheap and tasty) lip scrub

To be honest, I'm blessed with my lips. They are not pretty, they are actually really small, but I hardly suffer from any flaws (also not in winter time). But, I know that there are people in a different situation! Do you want to have supersoft lips? Try out this lip exfoliator!

DIY: Memorable newspaper

It's almost your best friend's birthday, but you cannot find the perfect gift. Recognizable? My friends and I had the same problem in November, for Annabel's birthday. However, I found a website on which you could design your own personal newspaper. But hey, I'm a budget freak (well, that's a bit exaggerated), but I rather do not spend 30 euros on two A3 format sheets. So, we decided to make a newspaper ourselves!

DIY: Melon bracelet

Summer... and what do people eat? Melons. I actually hate melons, unless it are watermelons. However, I'm glad that my family likes them, because you can make an original, budget-proof bracelet from its seeds! And even better: you can make it as personal as you like! + It looks good at the beach, + it looks good with a casual outfit + it looks good with... let's say everything.

DIY: Fishbone/fishtail braid

Again, something I love about summer! Different hairstyles. (Maybe I keep writing articles about the summer so it comes faster?). During the summer I always wear my hair different, e.g. more braids. It gives me a summer feeling! Of course it is not a new braid, but I still enjoy its beauty. The fishbone braid. Do you want to know how to make it? Let me teach you!

DIY: Strawberry cocktail (alcohol free)

Summer is on its way, or at least I hope so! The things I love about summer include the sun, the beach and the pretty people:). However, the food and beverages in summer differ from the ones in winter. I always start eating lighter food, including more fruit! And strawberries, they are simply delicious. Another glorious aspect of this fruit, is that it is cheaper during summertime!

DIY: Transform your t-shirt into a bag

Do you like to be a little creative? And, more important, do you want to have a new, original bag without spending a lot of money? Then transform your t-shirt into a personal bag! Original, how you like it, and cheap! I stumbled upon this article at www.stylehive.com but inserted my own preferences, descriptions and ideas!

DIY: Easy but cute updo

Medium or long hair; so many opportunities! Last week a friend of mine joined her boyfriend (whose birthday it is today! Happy birthday Pip!) to the prom. Of course she stressed out about her hair, make-up and dress, and asked me to do her hair and make-up. We searched for hours. She did not want her hair to be up, but she did not want it loose... She did not want a braid, but she did not want her hair straightened as well. Luckily, we found this movie on youtube and decided to do her hair like that!

DIY: Chain (necklace) shirt

We saw them at the catwalk, and they appear in stores more often and often: chain shirts. I kinda love them, but if you know me then you also know that I'm a budget freak! And since chain shirts are often pretty expensive, I decided to find out how to make it yourself! Do you like them too? Let me show you how to make a chain shirt yourself!

DIY: Protect yourself well

In the Netherlands, and probably also in other countries, we assume too quickly that the sun is not so harmful. You are wrong! Now it is June, the sun arrived (well, for a week, now it changed its place again for the well-known rain), and you are not supposed to leave your house without a cream that contains an SPF (Sun Protection Factor). Yeah...  I know this, is what you are probably thinking now. But believe me, I still know way too many people that do not protect themselves properly!

I'm back!

Hi guys,
I know that I have not been posting since the beginning of January and actually I feel bad about it! I've talked it over with some people and decided to continue my blog. I enjoy writing and it is a way to relieve stress. I stopped because it confiscated more time than I thought it would, but from this weekend onward you can expect new DIY's!

Love,
Anouk!
