DIY: Beauty items

When do we ever have the time to treat ourselves to a relaxing, foaming bath? Work, school, sports and loads of other obligations make that women do not treat themselves as much as they should. Of course, sometimes we go to the sauna with friends and relax for one day, but we always make this appointment two months beforehand because we need to take all our obligations into account… And even IF we have the time to treat ourselves, we complain about the prices of beauty products. This last point can be solved! How? By making your own beauty products!

The only thing you need to do is make sure that you are able to relax and take some time for yourself, alone or together with your friends!

Yoghurt facial mask
Does your face need a serious wake-up call? Then mix a little yoghurt with a teaspoon full of honey. Use your hands or a special brush to divide this brew carefully over your face and leave it there for approximately ten minutes. After these ten minutes you can easily remove the face mask with the aid of a wet washcloth.
Did something go wrong? No worries; this mask is completely eatable!

Tired eyes?
Many people suffer from tired eyes, without knowing one of these two simple solutions!
1) Wet two wads of cotton wool and put them in the freezer before you go to sleep. When you wake up, let them thaw a little bit and lay them on your eyes for a few minutes. You can do the same with slices of cucumber or raw potato by putting them in the refrigerator first.
Caution: make sure the wads of cotton wool are not too cold since this may hurt your eyes!
2) Take two chamomile teabags and soak them in hot water for a few seconds. Put them in the refrigerator afterwards to cool down. When they are cold, put them on your eyes for approximately ten minutes. Easy as that!

Exfoliating cream
Making this yourself is terribly easy: you mix two teaspoons of olive oil, a little body milk and a bit of sugar until you get the right composition. Of course you can make some variations!
- Add a little lemon juice to get a fresh feeling.
- Add a little milk-powder or honey to make your exfoliating cream super soft!
- Replace the sugar by salt!

Enjoy!

  1. I think the yoghurt mask sounds delicious. I remember when I was a teenager we thought washing our hair in beer was supposed to keep it shiny. It actually just made us smell like a pub...
