People who know me, know that I've been thinking about donating my hair for a long time. However, I always found an excuse: after prom I will do it, because I really want beautiful, long hair on my prom pictures. My prom was in June, I eventually donated my hair in October (because, you know, I was going to college and people there needed to see me with long hair, and I didn't know which hairdresser to go to, and I didn't want it to be too short...) Well, the main reason was that I was afraid. That people wouldn't think of me as "pretty" when I had short hair. That people would tell me I made a mistake.
What was I thinking?! People who would think that should not matter to me! So, eventually, I went to the hairdresser together with my mother (for mental support), and it turned out not so bad after all!

New Format... Excited!
Hi guys!
Lasts weeks have been pretty busy, and I really missed my relax-moments. I told some new friends of mine about my blog, and they said that I should continue it.
Well... I thought... I'm not so sure.
Last night I was wondering why I was not sure about continuing my blog. After all, I loved writing and with this Blogger format I could also keep track of my pageviews, from which country they were, etcetera.
The reason is that I started this blog as an assingment for school, so it feels kind of forced to stay within the limits of DIY.
But as I keep getting between the 30-60 pageviews a day, without posting anything, I decided to adjust this blog a little, also including other posts, for example about me donating my hair, studying and the do's and dont's, but of course I will share some amazing DIY's I come accross.
I am not sure if I will change the URL, but if I do I will let you know!
I hope you guys appreciate this idea, and will continue to follow my blog.
Love,
Anouk

Simple variation of ponytail/advance to simple updo
It's been a while since I've posted something but today I ran into such a simple variation of a ponytail; I could not keep it from you!
When I'm working my long hair mainly annoys me and therefore I put it in a ponytail. I know that gets boring, but it's easy! And be honest with me, trying to create a cute hairdo when you're at work/at school is practically impossible...
This easy flip of your ponytail creates a subtile change to your look and probably takes you 5 seconds more than a regular ponytail, and if you take it a few steps further you can create a gorgeos updo as well!

DIY: Chair closet
Wow, sometimes I am amazed by the people that walk around on this planet. Lately it is mostly by their stupid ideas, but I've got to tell you, this man is a genious! If you are looking for a new closet in your home, and if you do not have a lot of space, try this out!

DIY: Draped skirt
YES! It's official! My summer break has started. However, the first problem already showed up today: I am bored. So, I started looking around at the internet and I found an outfit that is super-awesome-extremelysimple and I am surely going to wear it as soon as the sun is shining again!

DIY: Pizza cupcakes
I just stumbled upon this, and want to share it with you! I am surely going to make these when friends come over for dinner, as it is an original and (at least I think) tasty meal! Of course you can add all spices and products you like to make it just the way you like it!

DIY: Fast for 24 hours!
As you may have noticed, it has been a few days since I've posted something. This is a result of a hectic week in which I had to set up a 24 hour program for 30 students, who joined me with a 24 hour fast at school. We did not eat from Wednesday June 27, 14:00, to Thursday June 27, 14:00. We sought sponsors (family, friends, neighbours, etc.) and raised money for KiKa, a Dutch organization that fights for children with cancer. Do you want to know how we survived these 24 hours? Or are you planning on fasting yourself? Then read this!

DIY: Super easy (and cheap and tasty) lip scrub
To be honest, I'm blessed with my lips. They are not pretty, they are actually really small, but I hardly suffer from any flaws (also not in winter time). But, I know that there are people in a different situation! Do you want to have supersoft lips? Try out this lip exfoliator!

DIY: Memorable newspaper
It's almost your best friend's birthday, but you cannot find the perfect gift. Recognizable? My friends and I had the same problem in November, for Annabel's birthday. However, I found a website on which you could design your own personal newspaper. But hey, I'm a budget freak (well, that's a bit exaggerated), but I rather do not spend 30 euros on two A3 format sheets. So, we decided to make a newspaper ourselves!

DIY: Melon bracelet
Summer... and what do people eat? Melons. I actually hate melons, unless it are watermelons. However, I'm glad that my family likes them, because you can make an original, budget-proof bracelet from its seeds! And even better: you can make it as personal as you like! + It looks good at the beach, + it looks good with a casual outfit + it looks good with... let's say everything.

DIY: Fishbone/fishtail braid
Again, something I love about summer! Different hairstyles. (Maybe I keep writing articles about the summer so it comes faster?). During the summer I always wear my hair different, e.g. more braids. It gives me a summer feeling! Of course it is not a new braid, but I still enjoy its beauty. The fishbone braid. Do you want to know how to make it? Let me teach you!

DIY: Strawberry cocktail (alcohol free)
Summer is on its way, or at least I hope so! The things I love about summer include the sun, the beach and the pretty people:). However, the food and beverages in summer differ from the ones in winter. I always start eating lighter food, including more fruit! And strawberries, they are simply delicious. Another glorious aspect of this fruit, is that it is cheaper during summertime!

DIY: Easy but cute updo
Medium or long hair; so many opportunities! Last week a friend of mine joined her boyfriend (whose birthday it is today! Happy birthday Pip!) to the prom. Of course she stressed out about her hair, make-up and dress, and asked me to do her hair and make-up. We searched for hours. She did not want her hair to be up, but she did not want it loose... She did not want a braid, but she did not want her hair straightened as well. Luckily, we found this movie on youtube and decided to do her hair like that!

DIY: Chain (necklace) shirt
We saw them at the catwalk, and they appear in stores more often and often: chain shirts. I kinda love them, but if you know me then you also know that I'm a budget freak! And since chain shirts are often pretty expensive, I decided to find out how to make it yourself! Do you like them too? Let me show you how to make a chain shirt yourself!

I'm back!
Hi guys,
I know that I have not been posting since the beginning of January and actually I feel bad about it! I've talked it over with some people and decided to continue my blog. I enjoy writing and it is a way to relieve stress. I stopped because it confiscated more time than I thought it would, but from this weekend onward you can expect new DIY's!
Love,
Anouk!

DIY: Longer lashes
Unfortunately,
not everyone is born with super-long and thick lashes... Luckily, we can do a
lot in order to give our lashes more length and volume. You have probably
already heard some tips to increase the looks of your lashes, but I will show
some of the most helpful ones! Let's hope they work...

DIY: Chocolate mousse
Chocolate,
loved by both men and women. There are endless ways to use it: just eat it,
decorate things with it, make pies/cupcakes/ice cream with chocolate flavour. I
can continue for a while... A beloved variation of chocolate among girls is
chocolate mousse. But, did you know that making this delicious dessert is
extremely easy? I made chocolate mousse together with the mother of my boyfriend
and it was so good that I want to share the recipe with you!

DIY: 5 ways to improve the condition of your nails.
To us,
women, nails are extremely important. When a nail splits, we freak out (even
though we do not always admit itJ).
Women react heavily for a reason; nails are a reflection of one’s
lifestyle. Be honest, what hand would you prefer to shake? A clean, soft hand
with perfect polished nails or a hand with dirt under split nails? Exactly. But
polishing your nails often and removing the nail polish is also damaging for
your nails… I will teach you how to improve the condition of your nails!
